Optimizing for The Inaugural 3D Photo Wall
We ask that all photos fit within a 600×400 box and be less than 100KB.
In short, you can go here to use Web Resizer to optimize your photos for The Inaugural 3D Photo Wall.
Using Web Resizer:
- Upload one of your photos.
Click Browse…; find the photo on your computer and select it; click Open; click upload image. - Resize the photo.
Next to New size: if your photo is wider than it is tall, set the width to 600. If it is taller than it is wide, click the height button and set the height to 400. Set “Sharpen:” to zero - unless you think your photo really needs it. Click apply changes and you will see a preview. If your optimized photo is still larger than 100kb, decrease the Image quality setting and click the apply changes button. - Download the photo to your computer.
Click the “download this image” link that you will see below the Optimized Image. Web Resizer will download the optimized photo to your hard drive with “_opt” added to the end of your filename (so don’t worry, it won’t try to overwrite your original).
You can then submit your optimized photos to us.
Soon, there will be a video on this page that demonstrates the process and, in time, we may add instructions for how to do it with popular image editors like Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Gimp, and IrfanView. For now, you can find plenty of online tutorials by searching for them. To find a good tutorial might take a bit of work though. When we put a tutorial on this site, you can be sure that we’ve worked hard to make sure that it is of high quality.
If you have any advice to share - favorite editors, tutorials - we heartily encourage you to use the comment section below. Thanks!
